Prayers for Lebanon

Please hold in your prayers the people of Lebanon and UCA members with family in Lebanon, as the nation struggles through one of the world’s worst financial crises in more than a century.
Assembly Consultant Covenanting Stuart McMillan offered the following expression of solidarity and compassion for our friends from Lebanon and Armenia.
It comes after an ABC report (see below) detailing how the price of food, petrol and medicine has sky-rocketed as the country's economy is crippled by the effects of civil war, the pandemic and the catastropic ammonium nitrate explosion 12 months ago.
marHabā Akh (brother),
Akh, I nabad (weep), when I see the beauty of Lebanon, her land, her peoples, so damaged. Just as I weep and lament for Armenia and Artsakh.
But God, we read in Scripture, gathers our tears in bowls in heaven. May they be poured out as healing balm on our sisters and brothers in these beautiful lands.
I speak the words of the prophet Isaiah in Chapter 61, "over the lands, waters and peoples of these nations, and with you, I declare God’s restoration, renewal and healing."
Salaam, Stiwart (Stuart)
Stuart visited Lebanon during his term as UCA President and in 2019 with his wife Ros visited Armenia and Artsakh.
