17th Assembly Theme
Weaving Christ's Love Across Cultures and Boundaries
The theme chosen by the President-elect for the upcoming triennium is Threads of Love, Weaving Christ's Love Across Cultures and Boundaries. We are called by God to weave Christ’s love into the world by building bridges and fostering communities that transcend social and cultural divides.
As we prepare to gather together, we are reminded of the unity we have in Christ's love. Guided by this shared vision, we are called to weave together a future where unity is celebrated, diversity is cherished and every thread of our communal tapestry resonates with the boundless love of Christ.
In this short video, President-elect Rev Charissa Suli unpacks the theme for the 17th Assembly and the coming triennium, "Threads of Love: Weaving Christ's Love Across Cultures and Boundaries." The theme is inspired by her Tongan heritage, where women and girls would weave the fala (mat), a symbol of hospitality and generosity. The video was filmed at the Tuggerah Lake South Faith Community on the NSW Central Coast.
