OUR WALK AS FIRST AND SECOND PEOPLES
Covenanting
At the heart of the Uniting Church is a commitment to a relationship with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) and with the First Peoples of this land.
We walk together as all First and Second Peoples, seeking to build a church and nation of justice and reconciliation.
Sovereignty
The Uniting Church has affirmed that the First Peoples of Australia, the Aboriginal and Islander Peoples, are sovereign peoples in Australia.
In recongnising this fundamental truth, the UCA is committed to a journey of learning about what it means to practically live out this affirmation.
