more than The Uniting Church’s National Presbytery Ministers Gathering 2026 brought more than 35 leaders from every state and territory to Hobart from 27–30 July for a time of learning, prayer and discernment centred on leadership in times of change.
The program featured teaching from Rev Dr Julian Hamilton of the Methodist Church of Ireland and Uniting Church President Rev Charissa Suli, along with conversations on church planting and updates on the Act2 process. Participants also enjoyed opportunities to connect, share, reflect and explore together what God is calling the Church to.
Beginning on Palawa Country, the gathering included a Welcome from Aunty Alison, Leprena UAICC Regional Council Elder, who reminded participants that “we’re becoming more and more an us”. Site visits to Fanny Cochrane Smith’s Church, Kingston Uniting Church and Rowallan Park Intentional Community further deepened participants’ understanding of the history, ministry and witness of the Uniting Church in Tasmania.
Reflecting on the gathering, President Suli gave thanks for the vital ministry of Presbytery Ministers, whose leadership strengthens congregations, ministry agents and local communities across the Church.
