Rev Nicholas said that there had been positive moves in the church for LGBTIQA+ welcome and inclusion over the 30 years, "but there remains much to be done if we are to be faithful to the Gospel of Christ Jesus, truly welcoming and celebrating all as the beloved children of God."
"After more than 30 years our theme is 'Daring to Hope'. A hope which is founded in the life and ministry of Jesus," said Rev Nicholas.
"We will be talking, thinking and praying together about the best ways to continue queering the Uniting Church for the next 30 years."
The opening address will be given by Anna Brown OAM, CEO of Equality Australia, and one of Australia's leading advocates for legal and social reforms for the LGBTIQA+ communities.
