Uniting in Prayer is an invitation for the whole Church to slow down, listen deeply to God, and reconnect with one another across cultures, communities and distances.
From Pentecost Sunday on 24 May to the 49th Anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia on 22 June, we are embarking on a shared season of national prayer.
Over these 30 days, 30 voices from across the Church will come together. Each day, a new voice will lead us in praying as one body around a single, unifying question: “What does it mean to be woven together in Christ's love across cultures and boundaries?”

Day 22: Courage to stand where Christ stands
God of the oppressed and the overlooked,
You hear the cries we too often ignore.
You see the injustice and deep wounds that we grow accustomed to
In this Season of Renewal, shake us awake again.
May your Spirit unsettle anything in us that clings to comfort at the expense of compassion.
Where we have grown numb, awaken us.
Where we have grown cynical, soften us.
Where we have grown fearful, steady us.
Give us courage, in the places we are, to stand where Christ stands –
with the poor,
the displaced,
the wounded,
and the weary.
Where voices are silenced, where communities are burdened by inequality, where systems oppress, empower us to speak, move us to act, and anchor us in your promise of a new creation.
Remind us that your kingdom breaks through in every voice raised for truth,
every act of solidarity,
every step toward reconciliation,
every friendship formed across difference,
and every community choosing generosity over fear.
Renew our hearts so that justice is not merely an idea we admire but a way of life we embody.
Renew our communities so that we become beacons of your hope and healing love. Renew our world through the persistent, transforming work of your Spirit.
We pray in the name of Jesus,
Amen.
