Hearing your voice on ageing
UnitingCare Australia wants to hear your VOICES!
First national conversation on ageing and aged care, 4 pm (AEDT) Thursday 2 December
"I’m pleased to extend an invitation for you to be part of our first Uniting Friends of Ageing national conversation,” said Claerwen Little, National Director of UnitingCare Australia. “We want to - literally - hear your voices! Working as a community has always been our strength and it’s vital that we hear from you."
UFA Voices is open to all interested members of the Uniting Church. Some of the people who have signed up so far have commented:
“My husband was in a nursing home for about 2 years. When we had to choose a nursing home we chose it partly on the basis of the qualified staff on duty at any time, including nights, and the ratio of staff to patients. I am pleased to have the opportunity to talk about this experience.” – Eleanor, Burwood
"Aged care is such an important issue for many members of the church community. Thanks to UnitingCare Australia to giving us a voice." - Isobel, Leichardt, NSW
The questions being asked at the conversation will include:
- What are your concerns about ageing and aged care in Australia?
- What experience do you have, including for friends and family, in the aged care system?
- What can we do to help see the recommendations of the Royal Commission implemented?
UFA is a national network and will meet via Zoom from 4:00-5.15 pm (AEDT) on Thursday 2 December. To register your interest and receive the Zoom link, contact Warren Talbot: warrent@nat.unitingcare.org.au.
