What one thing that makes your community unique?
Although we're not the most resourced or polished church community, one thing that we see as unique is that we are a people who love each other well and continue to support and care for each other.
Where do you see God at work in your community?
One of the greatest things lately where God has been at work was at our Church Camp. We had great times of prayer and worship, entering into the presence of God. We had a baptism, a reaffirmation, and someone giving their life to Jesus, which was amazing!
What are the intercultural and/or intergenerational aspects?
We have a great intergenerational community at Waypoint with people of all different ages and we've seen great connections between the ages in terms of support, prayer, wisdom and friendship. Particularly in my context at our Paralowie campus, I love seeing people young and old all caring for one another and building relationships with one another where we're all doing this Christian walk together.
What are some of the challenges you are facing?
I think we're still seeing some of the effects of COVID lingering in terms of people feeling exhausted and burned out. And we're praying for renewed energy, passion and hope within our teams of volunteers that would propel us in strength into this new season that we're in.
What can the rest of the church pray for you and your community?
That God would pour out the Spirit on the people of Paralowie and Parafield and draw them to Himself and that we would have great opportunities to connect with our community and minister to the people whom God brings us. And that He would pour the Spirit afresh in our church and we would see great personal revival and renewal within our congregation and the world that we're in.
