What inspired Uniting Creative?
Uniting Creative emerged out of the lockdown in 2020, as churches turned to the virtual and online expression of the Sunday gathering, there was an increasing need to generate online resources to support local churches. Over this time the creative collective came together to be in intentional community for each other (as we did our part to support the wider church). As the collective engaged, collaborated and developed new music, there was great enthusiasm to continue after lockdown eased.
What is exciting people in this ministry?
Being invited into breathable energy, room and space to create!
Worship arts has provided a platform for the fusion of diverse cultural elements, fusion across musical genres, new exciting expressions of a unique and dynamic worship experience. The opportunity to harmonise not just with our voices but through the sharing of our stories.
Tell us about the new album? What is the hope?
It’s a transformative musical journey, a collective of visionary artists who have poured their hearts and souls into crafting an album that speaks volumes about the power of community and creativity. Over two years in the making, this music captures the essence of inclusion, unity, and justice, interwoven seamlessly with a tapestry of soul-stirring melodies and innovative sounds.
The music within is more than notes and lyrics; it's a testament to the strength of courageous, contemporary, and growing churches. Each composition is a reflection of the collective heartbeat, resonating with the shared values of love, compassion, and understanding. It's a soundtrack for a world in search of hope and transformation.
What energises the faith of people involved?
Coming together in all our diversity and colours and listening and learning from each others faith journey. Bringing that richness of faith from all our traditions and seeing not just new music and art emerging but creatives coming alive through the awakening of their gifts! That’s really exciting to see!
Where do you see God at work at the moment?
It’s a beautiful thing to experience what happens when we let go.
When we pause and welcome the spirit to move …. letting music transcend language and touch the heart. It can be so healing and uplifting, and I see this over and over as we gather, the deepening of our connection with the Divine.
Are you facing challenges? What can we pray for?
We would love prayer as we discern the next stage of what Uniting Creative is moving forward.
We are looking for ways to expand and go deeper into this ministry, exploring creative ministry pathways for those called to the church and ongoing support and mentoring for creatives and worship leaders in their local churches.
