Taking the Pulse of the UCA for the future
From now until the end of 2021, we will be taking the pulse of the Uniting Church as we consider the shape of our future. There will be opportunities to respond to what we’ve heard so far through the Act2 project, participate in consultations, and reflect on our identity as the UCA.
Here’s what will be happening and how you can be involved:
What we’ve heard: reflecting back
In September we’ll let you know what we’ve heard so far from over 600 people in a national survey and 6 national online conversations, and what we think it means. You’ll be able to discuss this in small groups wherever you are in the UCA – congregations, small groups, Synod Standing Committees, Presbytery meetings, agencies, schools - and respond to some questions to let us know what you think.
Taking the Pulse: reflecting on our identity
In early September, we’ll be launching a set of studies on The Basis of Union. We encourage you to participate in these studies, so we can immerse ourselves in our identity as set out for us in this key guiding document. You will then be able to let us know what you think our identity is saying to us as we consider our future.
Taking the Pulse: Act2 National online consultation with Presbytery Ministers
On Friday 22 October and Friday 5 November 2021, we’ll meet with Presbytery Ministers from across the UCA. Two days to hear about the UCA from a Presbytery perspective and what is important for the future of the UCA. Read more and register here.
Taking the Pulse: UCA young leaders
In early 2022, President Sharon Hollis will host a National Young Adult Leaders Conference (NYALC) to take the pulse of UCA young adult leaders about our Church's leadership now and for the future.
We hope you’ll join us as we continue the important work of Act2.
