Rev David Fotheringham has shared the latest update from the Act 2 Commission for Governance, Resourcing and Administration. Informed by six years of listening, prayer and consultation across the Church, the Commission is preparing proposals for the Uniting Church’s 2027 Assembly.
Aimed to relieve governance burdens so leaders and volunteers can devote more energy to discipleship, ministry and mission, reforms include reinforcing the four council structure, with an optional three council model where it suits a Synod, and more equitable distribution of resources.
The Commission invites the Church to continue praying for this work and for communities of faith to flourish in the years ahead. Watch his full video update.
