Uniting Church in Australia Assembly
The Role
The Uniting Church in Australia is living through a time of change, opportunity and challenge. The size, shape, demographics and needs of the Uniting Church have changed significantly since its birth in 1977, and so has our wider community. Our structures, practices, and culture need renewal and change too. The Assembly, the national council of the Uniting Church, established the Act2 Project as a major change project to address our challenges and discern a life-giving future for the Church as a whole.
As the full-time Act2 Project Lead you will lead and manage the work of the Act2 Project in a new phase, building on work undertaken between 2022-2024, including the conclusions of extensive consultation with the national Church. You will work to carry forward decisions of the triennial 17th Assembly meeting in three key areas:

- Identify and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Develop and maintain project management frameworks and methodologies, ensuring quality assurance processes and controls are working effectively.

- Establish and maintain effective reporting mechanisms to keep stakeholders informed of project progress, including preparation of high-quality documentation, reports, and presentations for various church bodies and stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and review changes to systems, policies, procedures, and processes for all areas of responsibility, or when requested to do so.
- Facilitate change management processes to support successful implementation.
- Act as the Executive Officer of the Governance, Resourcing & Administration Commission.
- Provide leadership to the Act2 Project team, role modelling the Church's values and professional standards.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, working with other team members to inspire and motivate staff to achieve their professional objectives.
- Actively develop direct reports with scheduled regular catchups to set and monitor goals, develop a growth plan, coach, and provide feedback
