Discipleship opportunities for young adult leaders

Are you a young adult wanting to grow your discipleship and interested in what it means to be part of a world-wide ecumenical fellowship of faith? Three global opportunities below invite applications from emerging Christian leaders who are seeking to deepen their leadership and faith. We encourage Synods, Presbyteries, Congregations and others to think about the young people they might encourage and invest in taking up these opportunities.

Ecumenical School on Governance, Economics and Management (GEM) 2023, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Applications are open for the Ecumenical School on Governance, Economics and Management (GEM School) for an Economy of Life, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21 August through 1 September 2023. In order to strengthen the voice of the churches with regards to global economics, a group of up to 20 current and future leaders representing the churches will have the opportunity to attend the GEM School.
Co-organized by the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation, World Methodist Council, and Council for World Mission. Find out more.
Interreligious summer course at Bossey, Switzerland, July-August 2023
Jews, Christians and Muslims up to the age of 35 years are invited to apply for the 2023 Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Interreligious Studies course. The theme of the 2023 interreligious summer course is “Health and Wholeness of Life in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.” The course invites students to delve into the theme from the perspective of the three Abrahamic Religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Final submission date for applications is 28 February 2023. Applicants may be students, laypersons, or professionals with a suitable level of religious literacy and/or experience in the field of interreligious dialogue and engagement. Find out more
Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) youth internship programme, June 2023-May 2024, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Applications are now invited for the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA)’s year-long youth internship programme at the CCA Headquarters in Chiang Mai, Thailand, for young Asians between the ages of 23–29.
Through offering this youth internship opportunity, the CCA will train young Asian ecumenists, develop their leadership skills, and enrich their ecumenical formation.
Three young ecumenists who are committed to the ideals of the ecumenical movement will be selected from among the applicants sponsored and recommended by the CCA’s member churches/councils and ecumenical partner organisations.
