Ending Loneliness Together
Last week UnitingCare Australia co-hosted the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of Ending Loneliness at Parliament House. Ending Loneliness Together, a national body of which UnitingCare Australia is a founding partner, joined with politicians from all sides to raise awareness of loneliness and its impact in our community.
The movement has deep connections with the Church, with the concept originating from a UCA Sydney congregation.
The Minister responsible for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, the Hon David Coleman MP, addressed the event, together with co-chairs of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Dr Fiona Martin and Andrew Giles.
The mission of Endling Loneliness Together is to break down stigma and build the evidence-base, resources and tools for a more inclusive and connected society.
