Take our Emissions Survey

Uniting Church communities are invited to take part in a new survey to help the Assembly understand how we are tracking against our goal to reduce our carbon footprint.

At the 16^th Assembly meeting in May 2022, the Assembly resolved to encourage all parts of the Uniting Church to take action on climate change and strive for net zero emissions by 2040. See the full text HERE.

Arising out of the resolution, the Assembly Standing Committee set up a Steering Group to discover what is happening with regard to climate action across the country and to report on the way forward as we all strive to reduce emissions. The Steering Group will prepare a report for the 17^th Assembly which will be held in July 2024.

To help the Steering Group with its work, I invite you to complete the attached Survey. Your involvement is voluntary but will help us build an overall national picture.

The Steering Group would particularly like to hear from the potentially larger emitters within the Church, including Agencies, Schools, Synod operations, Presbytery operations, and larger congregations.

The short survey will take about 10 minutes.
