Get an update on the Act2 Project Plan and current opportunities to participate in the Project

It's full steam ahead on the Act2 Project! The Act2 Project Steering Committee met last Wednesday evening (1 February) to endorse the Act2 Project Plan. Through 2023 there will be many opportunities for people, communities, councils and other bodies to take part.
Read on for a short summary of the project plan, a visual snapshot and current opportunities to get involved.

Phase 1: Exploration (current phase)
From now until May 2023 we are exploring all the possibilities of where God may be leading us. We are reaching out to every congregation and faith community right across the country. We are also deepening our engagement with key leaders across our Church. This is to help shape the key insights, issues and contexts to shape the options we offer the Church.
Phase 2: Collective Discernment
From June to November 2023 we will be asking the Church to discern where you believe God is leading us. We will participate in as many meetings of Presbyteries and Synods as possible along with other key governing bodies. We will seek to offer the Church possible options and directions to assist this process.
Phase 3: Recommendations for Action
From December 2023 to July 2024 we will be working to further refine and finalise a report and integrated set of recommendations for consideration by the 17th Assembly (July 2024).
How to get involved in the Exploration phase
For Congregations, Faith Communities, Ministers: Look out for your pack coming electronically to you including an invitation for your Church Council or leaders to discuss the Act2 Project and share back with the Project.
For Presbyteries: Invite us to your presbytery meeting, standing committee or presbytery leaders gathering so we can hear what is most important to you about the Act2 Project. Find the many ways to contact the team here.
For all who call the Uniting Church home:
- Share your prayers for the Uniting Church and our future and read prayers from around the Church.
- Join a Drop-In, an fortnightly opportunity to chat informally with the Act2 team on Zoom.
- Express interest in joining one of the focus groups or national forums running during the Exploration phase.
