You're invited: Act2 Drop-Ins
November 9, 2022
The Act2 Project Team is excited to invite you to a new opportunity to get involved with the Act2 Project.
Fortnightly Act2 Drop-Ins are a relaxed and informal opportunity, hosted on Zoom, to chat with some of the Act2 team, hear about the Act2 Project, share your insights and get advice on how to get your community involved.
The first Drop-In will be held on Friday 18 November at 1pm AEDT (12:30pm in SA, 12:00pm in QLD, 11:30pm in NT, 10:00am in WA). Register for the Zoom here.
Make a coffee, bring your lunch (or brunch, depending on where you are in Australia) and join the conversation for however long suits you.
"This is a great opportunity to engage informally with the Act2 Team,” said Act2 Project Lead Andrew Johnson. “Hear more about the Project, ask questions and explore when and how to involve your home community in the project. Bring your ideas, suggestions, hopes and wonderings.”
You might drop-in with the Act2 Team if you:
- don’t yet fully understand exactly what Act2 is about
- want to learn about the history of the Project
- are interested to know what we’re exploring now, and how it connects with your experience
- want to understand how Act2 is relevant to your home community
- have questions about the four areas the Project is now exploring
- have particular thoughts or ideas about one of the four areas
- want to know more about when and how to get involved
The Drop-In times and days will vary occasionally to give everybody the opportunity to come, so the Project team is also asking what would work best for you in the future. Take the quick survey below so these opportunities can be as accessible as possible.
What is Act2?
Act2 is a major national process focussed on the future of the Uniting Church. It is now moving into a new moment of exploration and discernment, shaped by the decision of the 16th Assembly. Over the next year and a half, we’ll be discerning as a whole Church with a focus on four particular areas: how to strengthen our local communities of faith, exploring our national identity, reviewing our governance structures, practices and resourcing, and developing our theological culture.
You might like to check out the new Act2 website where you can find information about the history and current directions of the Project, meet the Act2 team, find opportunities to get involved and share your prayers for this process and the Uniting Church.
The Act2 Project Team would love to hear from the wider Uniting Church at any time. Email them.
