This weekend thousands of supporters for a ‘yes’ vote in the referendum will “Walk for Yes” in events across the country to show there is wide and deep support for a First Nations Voice.
The Uniting Church supports the Voice as an opportunity to celebrate the First Peoples of Australia in our constitution, and through a Voice to Parliament, listen to First Nations voices and insights in addressing the challenges faced by their communities.
Uniting Church members are encouraged to show their support by joining a Walk for Yes close to them or to show their solidarity across the weekend in other ways.
So far, there are Uniting Church contingents being planned for the events in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Sign up to our Facebook event to get any updates.
